Charlie began her career when she joined the prestigious Carita Hair Salon in Paris. At Carita, she quickly entered the world of fashion, working in studios and on photo shoots. Her first mentor was the acclaimed fashion photographer, Sarah Moon, who was influential in introducing Charlie to innovative concepts of style.
Charlie went on to work with many famous photographers — Richard Avedon, Guy Bourdin, Dominique Issermann, Paolo Roversi, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier, Andre Rau and Ellen Von Unwerth. For over fifteen years, they created some of the most acclaimed and iconic photographs of models and celebrities.
In 1991, Catherine Deneuve appeared on the cover of “ELLE” magazine in an acknowledged spectacular transformation. Charlie, who was by then known as Charlie en Particulier, did her haircut.
Charlie next created the concept of Make Over and opened a private studio at the renowned Mr. Alexandre de Paris. Then she was the first to open a hair studio in an apartment in Paris 16th arrondissement. It was a huge success. After dreaming for years of going to the US, Charlie chose Los Angeles. She passed all her American licenses to better seduce her Beverly Hills clientele, where she was an instant hit! However she was longing for Paris… So she returned to France as soon as she received her Green Card, and reopened the little studio she kept close to the mythical Place Vendôme.
These days, Charlie travels to New York or Los Angeles, wherever her very especial engagements take her.
Hundred of women worldwide have since entrusted their appearance to the tremendously talented hands of Charlie. Her concept is based upon a global approach of beauty. With her talent, experience and deep understanding of people, Charlie gives each client a cut and a look that is specifically designed to work with the client’s features, hair texture, hair color, makeup, and life style. She is able to make each woman radiate and exude her inner beauty.Watch the video of Charlie's Story Watch the video of Charlie's Story
